Andrew Forsyth has performed, programmed, managed and consulted in a variety of broadcast platforms. From the Communications Arts program at Loyola College he started in radio at Canadian Marconi’s CFCF/ CFQR-FM and the legendary CHOM-FM in Montreal. Over the years, he launched stations across Canada including OZ-FM Newfoundland, CJFI-FM Sarnia for Rogers, CKIK Calgary, KX Country in Toronto and Hamilton and K-Rock Kingston. He is a co-founder of The Canadian Home Shopping Network (now TSC - The Shopping Channel) and the Canadian Satellite Users Association. At CHSN he was responsible for the drafting of the IPO of $15m for TSE listing; hired startup Broadcast, Telecom and Sales Fulfillment staff; negotiated Telesat uplink contract; Captained application for full-motion service at CRTC; Managed Broadcast operations, Sales, presenters and staff of 50 for both English and French operations.
He is a tenured professor of Media Arts for Seneca College at York University. Associated with Bohn Media / SparkNet Communications for over 15 years, he used his expertise in regulatory affairs, music research, strategic planning and product design to help meet the needs of various clients including Rogers, Corus, Cogeco, Metro-Media, Rawlco, Harvard, Blackburn and Goldenwest. He managed affiliate relations at start up for SparkNetworks radio syndication. Since founding his consulting business in the nineties, Forsyth has successfully worked with clients on a variety of CRTC Applications and assisted on strategic plans to optimize regulatory requirements. Assessing market research, programming and economics, drafting applications and providing strategic Public Hearing support are services provided.
